Suzuki comes back with their old machine in new flesh, Suzuki Gixxer 250 has finally unveiled at the Japan motor show on 21st Oct 16. The bike is powered by a 248 cc parallel twin cylinder motor. The power and torque output figure are not overwhelming, the Gixxer 250 manages to generate 24.7 bhp @ 8000 rpm and 23.3 nm @ 6500 rpm.
If you see closely, the engine specs of the Gixxer 250 is exactly similar to that of the Suzuki Inzuma, engine bore storke values are exactly same 53.5 x 55.2. Only the new thing about Suzuki Gixxer 250's is that, the fuel injection is tuned differently which manages to deliver sightly better power and torque than the Inzuma. On the Gixxer 250 considerable weight seems to be reduced compared to the older sibling, which brings the Gixxer 250 to 178 kg. But with the competition the Gixxer 250 still seems to be weigh too high. The Gixxer 250 comes with new perimeter frame which can handle the bigger engine's torque as compared to the small frame of the Gixxer SF.

Suzuki designers have done great job on the Gixxer 250 by maintaining the family look and resembling bike with Gixxer 1000. Gixxer 250 looks lowered and bulkier than the Gixxer SF in all means, even the Gixxer 250 features a split seat compared to single piece seat of the SF.
The Gixxer 250 features bigger size brake master cylinder for front, dual accelerator cable for better response, aluminum finished brake and clutch levers with clip-on handle bars for race ergonomics.
On the Gixxer 250 braking job is done by 290 & 240 mm disc with Nissin calipers on front and rear side respectively. ABS will come as optional on the bike though. The bike also gets a 15 litres fuel tank, which can take you 400-500 kilometers without refueling.
Some things which are missing on the Gixxer 250 with current competition are like slipper clutch, USD forks, projector headlamp, analog rpm meter.
Gixxer 250 will be priced around 3lakhs ex-showroom, based on price it will compete bikes like Kawasaki 300, Benelli 302, Yamaha R3.
Gixxer 250 might face criticism due to its high price and low performance against bikes like KTM RC200 as well.
